Current Scene Is Rubbish Say The View

“It’s good to be back because there’s a load of rubbish out there”, say Scottish indie heroes as they prepare second album.

The View’s guitarist Pete Reilly has said the band’s new single is a riposte to the ‘load of rubbish’ currently doing the rounds in rock. Speaking to Steve Harris on Xfm last night, he said:

“It’s good to come back with a big tune like [5Rebeccas], because there’s a load of rubbish out there. The best is still to come off the album as well”.

Holed up in Wales with producer Owen Morris (Oasis, Ash, The View), the band are currently mixing the record ahead of a January 2009 release.

“This record’s so much stronger than the first album”, said the guitarist. “We’re all agreed”.
