Coldplay: What Do You Think?

added 29 April 2008 at 11.28

'Violet Hill', the first single from Coldplay's long awaited new album, 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' has just been made available as a free download and played on Xfm but what do you think of it?

Has it been worth the wait? Does 'Violet Hill' make you salivate in a Pavlovian fashion at the mere thought of 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends'? Is it as good - or even better - than anything Coldplay have released before?

Or does it make you gnash your teeth and wail in despair? A stunning comeback that exceeds all your expectations or the dampest of squibs akin to sitting in a puddle?

Questions, questions and only one things is certain - we'll all have an opinion on what we think of 'Violet Hill'. But don't keep it to yourself - love it or loathe it we want to know what YOU think. Simply leave your comments below and get stuck into the debate.

  1. This is rubbish but I believe it will be the "worst" of the new songs from Coldplay. The Father of Apple(TM) has promised the best album since "Sgt. Pepper's," but look where that got Ben Folds Five.

  5. This new track is absolutley amazing! The new sound is fantastic and really works well with how coldplay have progressed over the years!

The piano timbre at the end is really subtle and really makes a great ending!

  8. Quality Sound!!!
The best song out there at the moment. I wasn't a big fan of coldplay's piano sound
I hope this is the new sound going forward for all bands!

  10. Have to say it's one of the dullest things they've done. More middle of the road than white lines. Very disappointing.
