Brandon Sticks Up For Killers’ Lyrics

Human’s lyrics aren’t “nonsense” says the frontman as Ryan Adam wishes The Killers would ‘stay in Las Vegas’.
Brandon Flowers hasn’t been having it easy recently. He’s been in The Star this morning bemoaning the fact that people aren’t really ‘getting’ the lyrics for new single ‘Human’. Arguments have been raging over whether the chorus lines read ‘Are we human or are we dancer?’, or ‘Are we human or are we denser’. Turns out it’s precisely this confusion that’s been getting The Killers’ frontman’s knickers in a twist.
“I really care what people think but people don’t seem to understand Human”, he told The Star. “They think it’s nonsense. But I was aching over those lyrics for a very long time to get them right.”
That’s not the only thing that may be worrying Flowers. It turns out that alt.country hero Ryan Adams isn’t a fan of the band and has been a bit vocal about it recently. He’s reported as saying,
"Fame is an unnatural construct and those who go in search of it are the least likely to find it… I mean, really, does anyone want to sit through a show by The Killers? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unfortunately with the exception of The Killers."
Ooh! Saucer of milk for the dude in a lumberjack shirt, then. What do you think? Is Brandon misunderstood? Has Ryan Adams got it right? And what exactly do the lyrics in ‘Human’ actually mean?
