Blur Reform To Play London's Hyde Park

The Britpop masters will reunite to headline their own super gig at London’s Hyde Park next summer...

The news comes following singer Damon Albarn’s revelation last month that the band is back together and rehearsing.

Though guitarist Graham Coxon left Blur in 2002, his friendship with Albarn has since been rekindled.

The band play London’s Hyde Park on Friday July 3 2009, and rumours of a Glastonbury headlining stint are also circulating.

Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday December 12 at 9am from the Xfm Ticket Shop here.

Albarn told NME: “It just felt right again. It somehow feels like there’s something for us to do again, we’re not completely useless or pointless, we’ve got a reason to exist.”

“We’ll do something in London because that seem sensible, but we’re also playing in other parts of the country working up to there.”

Drummer Dave Rowntree, who after Blur's split became a keen activist for the Labour Party, is yet to speak publicly regarding the band’s plans.

But what do you think? Is a headlining slot at Glasto the perfect way to return to the shores of indie? Or is it all about the £? And should their legacy remain unaltered?
