Bloc Party Cease Physical Single Releases

Bassist Gordon has revealed the band's latest single, 'Talons', will be their last ever release on a physical format...
Speaking to BBC 6Music, the Bloc Party bass player said that the band feel the traditional release format of CDs no longer holds the same significance as they once did.
Moakes said: "I think the days are gone where you can really make a splash in the charts, being a band like us, and have that sort of thing make a difference to your reputation and your sales."
He added he expects the band's latest single, 'Talons', to be their final through a physical format.
"Music was never a competition, who ever made it a competition? One decision might be to not get involved in that and put out non-eligible things on purpose."
Bloc Party's latest album, 'Intimacy', which was released physically on Monday, wasn't initally chart eligible after its surpirse digital release in August.
