Xfm Meets Shed Seven

After a four year hiatus, Shed Seven are back with a full blown original line up reunion tour this winter, and frontman Rick Witter can't stop "wittering" on about it! (guffaw)
Having officially split in 2003, 5 former members of the band, including both guitarists Paul Banks and Joe Johnson, are readying themselves for a three-week greatest hits tour at the end of the year. Although the band have promised it to be a stand-alone tour with no prospect of new material, tickets have sold fast, and the chance to reminisce seems to be going down very well with the fans. Frontman Rick Witter spoke to Xfm about the reunion.
How did the reunion come about?
“We were thinking about it back in February and had a little secret practice to see if we’ve still got it, and we have..." [listen to more here]
We hear that both former guitarists Joe Johnson and Paul Banks will be playing, how's that going to work?
“It’s the first time we’ll be playing with two guitars but it does sound pretty damn good…” [listen to more here]
When you initially met up did it take a while to get back into the swing of things?
“It was pretty instant: within three or four songs we had the group going again…” [listen to more here]
What can people expect from the tour?
“We’ve classed it as the greatest hits tour so that says exactly what we’re going to do. We’ll probably play the majority of the hits and add some more unusual tracks or B Sides…” [listen to more here]
You say this is a one-off, but if the tour goes well is there any chance this could be the start of Shed Seven Mach 2, perhaps more touring and even new material?
“No, no and no again; it’s definitely a one off. Definitely, without a shadow of a doubt…” [listen to more here]
