Xfm 10th Birthday Documentaries - Kaiser Chiefs

added 04 September 2007 at 14.58

The second of Xfm's 10th Birthday Documentaries tells the story of Kaiser Chiefs journey from a little bit of success, to a little bit of fame, to complete failure and then onto the massive success of their debut album, 'Employment'. Listen to it in full hear and download the podcast for free.

"To make it, some bands need to fight that little bit harder, to be that extra bit stronger, Kaiser Chiefs are one of those bands. Knock some bands down, it’s over. Knock others down, they get right back up again. Kaiser Chiefs are one of those bands.

"And this is their story, the story of an eight year battle involving failed record deals, staggering self belief, apathetic record companies, friendship, frustration and eventually incredible success."

The second of Xfm's 10th Birthday Documentaries is on Kaiser Chiefs' 2005 debut ‘Employement’. It features brand new, world exclusive interviews with whole band – Ricky Wilson, Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines, Simon Rix, Nick Hodgson and Andrew 'Whitey' White.

Other contributors include the album’s producers Steven Street and Steve Harris - the album’s other producer, the band’s manager James Sandom, their plugger Rob Lynch, Preston from The Ordinary Boys singer and Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis.

The Making of Kaiser Chiefs' ‘Employement’ is at 5pm on Sunday September 9 but to listen to the documentary in full right now, click on the links below.
