X-clusive: Mark Ronson On Ibiza Rocks Tour Plans

Mark Ronson spoke exclusively to Xfm at the Ibiza Rocks launch party about why he's looking forward to playing this summer's festival more than ever before.
Turning first to his reasons for attending the launch party at Camden's Lock Tavern - which boasted Pull Tiger Tail, CSS and Simian Mobile Disco amongst others on the bill - Ronson laughed,
"We've been locked in rehearsals in the studio so I would've gone anywhere to not look at the same ten guys. But no we just wanted to come out", he continued, "It's Ibiza Rocks, and hopefully we'll be playing this summer and it'll be fun, there's good DJs and what not."
And he seemed particularly keen on heading to the Balearic celebrations with a new format this year, confirming rumours that he himself, would be playing on the island of love this summer.
"I've gone there to do the DJ thing a few times before," he explained, "But i've never played with a band so we're trying to do that this summer."
And as for how things are panning out for his new outfit Ronson seemed pleased with the way things have been going.
"Its good we've got our first show this week", Ronson told Xfm, "And we've got Alex Greenwald from Phantom Planet here, he's touring with us, Daniel Merriweather, Stuart [Zender] from Jamiroquai playing bass. Its a good band, it'll be good."
And despite initial trepidations Ronson was now confident his live dates with the band - which kicked off on May 17 at London's Bloomsbury Ballroom - would be a success.
"In the back of my mind I definitely wanted to do it [involve a band in his shows] but I was kind of shitting myself. Until this past week of rehearsal and seeing it actually pan out and become a reality now its actually quite exciting and been like, phew! because we had all the dates either way you know. "
