X-clusive: Kaiser Chiefs Confirm Glastonbury

Speaking exclusively to Xfm, Ricky Wilson from The Kaiser Chiefs has confirmed that his band will definitely be playing Glastonbury Festival, and spoken about getting back on tour again.
As the February 26 release of their new album ‘Yours Truly, Angry Mob’ grows ever nearer, The Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson spoke to Xfm about leaving the comfy environs of the studio and getting back on the road. What’s it been like Ricky?
“Painful, painful. It is really quite painful. We did a gig on Friday, oh God, and on Saturday morning I was creaking, but I’ll get back on my horse… Not that I’m buying a horse. That’d be weird.”
“You always know you’ve got two parts of your job, the live and the studio, but both are equally and really enjoyable. Really.”
As for the ‘Two weeks at Number 2 in the pop charts’ success of his new single ‘Ruby’, Ricky seems pleased.
“I was pleased with that,” he said, sounding pleased, “At the end of the day it’s just a really good song about a girl, and if we can get that kind of reception with that kind of thing, then wait till people hear the album.”
And finally (and we apologies for the brevity of the payoff here) when asked if the rumours about the band appearing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival were true, Ricky simply answered, “Yes”.
And when we quizzed him once again about whether he was looking forward to it, he opined (again) “Yes.” Before following up with a succinct, “It’s always good to play Glastonbury.”
So there you go.
