Smashing Pumpkins to Release Acoustic EP
Hot on the heels of the success of their 'Zeitgeist' comeback album, Smashing Pumpkins are set to release an EP of new acoustic material.
In typically grandiose style, the EP is called 'American Gothic' and includes the tracks 'The Rose March', 'Sunkissed', 'Pox' and 'Again Again Again (The Crux)' and will be available on download-only via iTunes.
Commenting on the release, frontman Billy Corgan said: "I had written a bunch of material during the residencies in Asheville and San Francisco (earlier this year), and fans kept asking us if we were gonna put any of that stuff out.
"iTunes came to us wanting to do something together, so it just felt right."
Smashing Pumpkins returned to live and recorded action this year when Corgan reformed the band with drummer Jimmy Chamberlain. Their comeback album, 'Zeitgeist', was the band's first since 2000's 'MACHINA/The Machines Of God'
