Prince Reveals Six New Dates For London Residency
Prince has announced details of an extra six shows for 'The Purple Reign Tour' at London's O2 Arena this summer.
The new concerts - which are set to place at the O2 Arena on August 24, 25 and September 6, 16, 20, 21 - were added to the 15 previously advertised after they completely sold out in just a couple of hours.
Promotor of AEG Live Rob Hallett said,
“It is extraordinary that any artiste can sell out so many nights in London, the previous record was 14, but to sell this quickly and in August is quite remarkable!
"However with Prince we are talking about a phenomenal artiste who has spent his whole career raising the bar so we shouldn’t be too surprised. I can see this record outliving the century!”
Prince previously announced the extensive London run - which kicks off on August 1 -during a press conference in which he also revealed his intentions to buy a home in the U.K. and spend a considerable amount more time over here. [full story and interview here]
Tickets for the shows are on sale at the flat-rate price of £31.21, and every ticket purchaser receive his a free copy of his new album, called ‘3121’ (see what he did there?)
