Limp Bizkit Are S**t – It’s Official

According to a new American magazine chart, Fred Durst’s nu metal outfit Limp Bizkit have been named the worst band of the year, with Christian rock outfit Creed and The Strokes not far behind.
The new poll, voted for by readers of Guitar World magazine, puts Limp Bizkit as recording the second most disappointing album of 2003 (the aptly titled ‘Results May Vary’) as well as being the ‘Worst Band Of The Year’.
How quickly the tide turns. Bizkit's previous release, 2000's ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water’ resided at No. 5 in the charts after 13 weeks with sales of four million copies, while ‘Results May Vary’ has sold barely one million copies after 13 weeks, and sits at a lowly No. 64.
Creed came in at number 2 (despite not even having released anything in 2003 at all), the number 3 slot was occupied by The Strokes, followed by "All pop-punk bands" at 4 and oft-derided pop-punksters Good Charlotte at number 5.
Elsewhere in the survey, 'Elephant' by The White Stripes was amongst the best albums (alongside Led Zeppelin's live package ‘How the West Was Won’ and Audioslave's self-titled debut), Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl was named best rock guitarist and bizarrely Metallica's last effort ‘St. Anger’ was named both ‘Biggest Disappointment’ and the second ‘Best Metal Album’.
For those interested, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst will be posting his homemade movies from his band’s recent Back2Basics tour and upcoming live dates on his official website www.limpbizkit.com. “I will be shooting with my video cam and editing together ill movies on the tour bus and posting those.” Durst explained, saying that the footage “might get pretty ill as the tour progresses.”
