Interpol Storm Xfm Gig

Interpol made their triumphant return to the UK last night (July 2) with a brilliant Xfm session at London's Astoria, including tracks from their new album 'Our Love To Admire'.

With their trademark sombre presence, the American four-piece chose the occasion to showcase four new tunes from their forthcoming album 'Our Love To Admire' which is due for release on July 9.

They stormed their way through new tracks 'Mammoth' and 'Rest My Chemistry' alongside the album's first single 'The Heinrich Maneuvre' and opening track 'Pioneer To The Falls', all of which were greeted with rapturous applause and the hearty thumbs up from the sea of fans.

But the packed venue was also treated to plenty of old classics from the band's back catalogue including tracks from previous albums 'Antics' and 'Turn On The Bright Lights'.

If you missed last night's special Xfm gig you can still catch the band on their UK tour with shows at the  Blackpool Empress Ballroom and London's Alexandra Palace this November.

The dates - which follow the band's set at T In The Park this weekend - are in addition to three smaller warm-up gigs in Edinburgh, Newcastle and Birmingham in August taking place just before the band play the main stage at the Carling Weekender Festival in Reading and Leeds.

Xfm caught up with Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, Sam Fogarino and Carlos Dengler ahead of their set at Scotland's T In The Park Festival this weekend. To read the full story and interview about festivals, ghosts and the making of their new record click here.
