Babyshambles, Kasabian, Lostprophets, Jamie T On NME Tour

added 08 January 2007 at 18.49

Yet more acts have been added to the line up of the annual NME Awards Tour, with Babyshambles, Kasabian, Lostprophets and Jamie T joining The Long Blondes, The Rapture, Maximo Park and Kings Of Leon.

In addition to the huge list of band already announced for the month-long event (this lot here) the newest bands announced to play include Kasabian at the Hammersmith Palais, Lostprophets headlining London’s Astoria, Babyshambles, who (might) play London Brixton Carling Academy and Jamie T, who’ll also be taking the stage at the Hammersmith Palais.

Kasabian guitarist, Serge Pizzorno, said in a statement “I love that venue, everyone is right on top of you”. “We’ve done a few of those shows. They’re always wild, NME nights, people hanging off the roof and going bonkers. It should be good fun.”

Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins added, “It’s going to be the first time playing new material, so we’re excited about that. We really want to have an album out by the end of next year. It’s a bit more punk rock. We don’t want to take ages over the album like last time. So the shows are going to be really exciting.”

Tickets for the dates go on sale on January 11, while the previously announced gigs are already available.  All will be/are available from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by clicking here.

In addition, fifty pence from every ticket sold will go to global-warming initiative Global Cool.
