The Ordinary Boys - Live On Music: Response

added 07 June 2005 at 14.37

With the speedily delivered second album 'Brass Band' on its way, nu-ska mod chaps The Ordinary Boys hit Music: Response to play live and reveal all about their Monkees-esque lifestyle.

It's not quite a year since The Ordinary Boys gave us the first taste of their Geezer Mod stylings in the form of debut album, the criminally underrated 'Over The Counter Culture', targeting saccharine pop music, cultish fashionistas and malfunctioning computer hardware with varying degrees of venom.

Incredibly, in a world where Coldplay can take about a gazillion years to produce their third collection of  identikit ballads so bland they make a bowl of muesli being poured onto a beige Ikea sofa sound like the Velvet Underground, The ordinary Boys are already back in the ring with their second outing 'Brass Band', due out on June 20.

On Music: Response the 'Boys told Ian Camfield about the secret of their productivity, their casual approach to songwriting and how they all live together in a big house just like The Monkees [listen] .

The Ordinary Boys 'Brass Band' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Title track for the new album which kicks off with some classic ska stylings and continues with macho Morrissey vocals over some nice Blackpool-Pleasure-Beach keyboards.

The Ordinary Boys 'Boys Will Be Boys' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
On the trauma and injustice of being a dude in the early millenial sociosphere, when there just aren't enough flash birds and tasty motors to go round.

The Ordinary Boys 'Life Will Be The Death Of Me' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] Exclusive Online Track!
Lighthearted, Jam-esque diatribe against the tedium of life's vast majority - 'Let's try and look at it from a whole new angle/And please let's not fly off the handle.'
