Rory Aggwelt, Sam Merrann and Devonte Hynez are three restlessly inventive young men, with varying musical backgrounds in hardcore, metal, hardcore metal, and hip-hop.
The band began in 2004, almost as a mistake. Rory and Sam spent time hanging out, inventing bands and playing shows on the strength of an afternoon’s songwriting.
Recently signed to Domino, Test Icicles have become renowned for their chaotic onstage performances. Speaking to Ian Camfield they confess to planning to last for two weeks, their love of Yes and They Might Be Giants and a new member who specialises in sound effects.
