Police Call For Witnesses Of Les Incompetents Singer Attack

Following the unprovoked attack on Billy Bell from Les Incompetents (which has left singer in unconscious) police have now launched an appeal for witnesses or information about the assault.
As previously reported, 19 year old Bell was attacked on a bus in Camden, North London last week and suffered serious head injuries. Since then the singer has been seriously ill and unconscious in the intensive care unit at the Royal Free Hospital and his condition is described as life threatening.
Now police are appealing for witnesses and information on the incident, with DS Sean Smyth from Islington CID releasing in a statement asking anyone who may know anything about the attack to come forward. It reads:
"The suspect and victim are believed to have exchanged words on the bus before the assault took place and I am appealing for information from anyone who was on the 29 bus just before 23.00 on the 22/06/06.
"I am also appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault in Camden Rd, near Brecknock Road to come forward. Witnesses reported having seen the suspect laughing as he headed north towards the Holloway Road after the attack.
"If it helps to jog people's memories the assault took place the night Australia beat Croatia in the World Cup."
The suspect is described as a white male, aged approx 28 yrs, with dark hair and possibly an Australian accent. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
As for Billy’s condition, a statement from the band released yesterday (July 29) reads:
'Today Billy underwent a 5 hour operation to remove a peice of skull which was putting pressure on his brain, which was done succesfully. However due to the nature of the operation his brain is now very inflamed so the next 48 hours are crucial to his recovery,
Please keep sending good thoughts and support to Bill and his family'
