Bell X1 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Once the band of misery inducing songwriter Damien Rice, Bell X1 have been hugely popular in the Emerald Isles since the release of their debut album ‘Neither Am I’ in 2000.
Following this were support slots with massive acts like Bon Jovi and the sadly departed Elliott Smith which lead to an identity crisis within the band so individually they pursued different musical aspirations before reconvening in 2002 to make follow up album ‘Music In Mouth’. Keane, Starsailor, Aqualung and Snow Patrol took them round most of Europe in support of it, touring for nearly two years.
Now they return with forthcoming album ‘Flock’, recorded in Dublin it went straight in at No 1 in the Irish album charts. The record will be released in the UK immanently followed by a mammoth tour around most of the country.
The beautiful and harmony fuelled ‘My First Born For A Song’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] sets the tone for a sublime session whilst ‘Flame’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] displays a serious electro groove coupled with great lyrics. Bringing the set to a close is the epic and deeply melodic lullaby ‘Rocky Took A Lover’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] .
