X-clusive: Scissor Sisters Shrug Off Oasis

In an interview with Xfm, Scissor Sisters singer Ana Matronic has responded to Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher’s recent statement claiming he wants to rip her fellow Sister Jake Shears' “f**king vocal chords out.”
Ana Matronic – along with New Order who she joined on their new single ‘Jet Stream’ – came into Lauren Lavern’s Show on Xfm yesterday (May 12) and talked about Liam’s recent, somewhat violent, outburst.
“Oh yes, I think he said something to the effect of he wanted to rip Jake’s [Shears – Scissor Sisters vocalist] throat out,” she explained, “Y’know? Something warm and fuzzy like that."
In fact Liam’s actual words were “Scissor Sisters? If that's what they call entertaining, then let them have it - bright colours and f**king weirdoes on stilts? I'm more entertaining than that ****. And I'll rip his f**king vocal chords out any day because he's f**king rubbish."
Not that Matronic seems particularly bothered, in fact exactly the opposite, saying,
“But I think when the Gallagher’s start picking fights with you, you know you’ve made it. It’s a stamp of approval as far as I’m concerned.”
In other Scissor Sisters’ news, Matronic revealed that the band have already started work on the follow up to their multi-million selling self titled debut,
“Well, the first album was recorded in Babydaddy’s [Sisters bassist/songwriter] apartment where he has a studio,” she explained, “So we’ve started the second one, and we’ve gone back to the drawing board. It’s nice there cos you’re not on anyone’s watch. You get to come in when you want, leave whenever you want, and its very mellow.
“So we’re pretty much in there every weekday – I only live walking distance from Babydaddy’s place anyway. It’s only been two weeks since we’ve been home, so it’s early days, but everything so far is going pretty good.”
‘Jetstream’ by New Order featuring Ana Matronic is out on May 16. To watch the video click here.
