Velvet Revolver Play Download Warm Up

added 03 March 2005 at 13.20

Xfm can reveal that the mighty Velvet Revolver have announced they will be playing a special one-off date as a warm up for their previously confirmed Download Festival appearance.

Having played their first headline show at Glasgow Academy back in 2004 and then selling out the SECC in literally a matter of days, Velvet Revolver have announced a special pre Download warm up show in Glasgow.

As thanks to their Scottish fans the band will be playing the 10,000 capacity Glasgow SECC Hall 4 on June 9. Fans are also promised some “very special guests” to be appearing at the show.

“We’ll go down in the gutter and play dirtbag clubs and we’ll play big f***ing stadiums,” said drummer Matt Sorum in a statement, “We don’t give a f**k. And that’s the way we’ve always been. We’re not precious.”

Tickets will go on sale Friday February 4 at 9am priced from £27.50 (plus booking fee) and can be bought online at www.getlive.co.uk or from the 24hr Credit Card Hotline 0870 400 0688.

As previously reported Velvet Revolver will be playing the Download Festival on Saturday June 11 as special guests to Black Sabbath on the Ozzfest day of the three-day event.
