The Killers Sell Off Instruments

added 03 November 2005 at 16.09

While some may have heard just about enough from The Killers to last them a lifetime, the band aren't selling all of their instruments. Drummer Ronnie is, however, auctioning his drumkit for charity.

Killers sticksman Ronnie Vannucci has announced he is auctioning off a signed drum kit on eBay in aid of charity. The drummer has put a 24" kick drum, 18" and 16" floor toms and a 13" rack tom on the online auction site.

However, if you want it you're going to have to be a) quick and b) loaded as the kit has attracted 30 bids so far with the highest bid at over $2,000 (£1,125).

All proceeds go to the American Red Cross relief efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.

As recently reported on Xfm Online, on November 22 the band will release a limited edition spangly boxset comprising eleven 7” records - one for each of the tracks on their debut album 'Hot Fuss'.

The B-sides range from the usual array of remixes (Josh Harris’ ‘Somebody Told Me’ remix and the ace Thin White Duke remix of ‘Mr. Brightside’), some acoustic loveliness (‘Smile Like You Mean It’), and some random covers (Morrissey's ‘Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself’ and Kenny Rogers' ‘Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town’).

Here’s how the box shapes up:

  • A ‘Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’
AA ‘Somebody Told Me' (Josh Harris remix)

  • A ‘Mr. Brightside’
    AA ‘Under the Gun’

  • A ‘Smile Like You Mean It’
