The Coral Hit Music: Response

Characteristically tight-lipped, The Coral instead let their music doing the talking as they play live and don't really tell Sarah Darling much of anything at all.
Having emerged in 2001 peddling manic, psychedelic sea shanties and pirate themes, The Coral have since mellowed as their output becomes ever more prolific, turning out a steady stream of increasingly catchy and sweet-natured folk tunes. Now promoting album number four - 'The Invisible Invasion' - the irrepresible six-piece tumbled into the Xfm studio bursting with all manner of news and anecdotal tidbits from their recent recording sessions and tour.
Not really. Rarely rising to Sarah's bait (ie: questions) The Coral reluctantly let slip that they (a) hired a house in the Lake District to record the new album in (b) played Glastonbury this summer and (c) think of all their songs as 'songs'. [listen]
The Coral 'Something Inside Of Me'
[Dial-Up]
[Broadband]
Pleasant acoustic folkery from The Wirral, this new single is The Coral in mam-friendly mode, sans their usual wheelbarrow full of psychdelics.
The Coral 'In The Morning'
[Dial-Up]
[Broadband]
The grim lyrical imagery is intriguingly at odds with the tune's breezy acousticary. "Like a ray of sunshine," opines Sarah brightly and with no discernible trace of irony.
The Coral 'So Long Ago'
[Dial-Up]
[Broadband]
Online Exclusive Track!
A chiming ballad, rife with nostalgia for days gone by. A sweeter time when liquid LSD (presumably) didn't flow like water.
