The Cardigans Return With ‘…Extra Gravity’

Swedish indie-popstrels The Cardigans have announced the details of their first new material since 1993’s ‘Long Gone Before Daylight’. The album sees the return of long-time production collaborator Tore Johannson.
The Cardigans have confirmed the details of their sixth studio album, ‘Super Extra Gravity’, set for release on October 17. The album finds ‘banished’ producer Johannson back tweaking the knobs following his absence from 2003's 'Long Gone Before Daylight'.
Frontwman Nina Persson explains, "We 'fired' him during the recording of the last album because we felt that he was pushing us towards an approach we attempted to leave. He still doesn't particularly like 'Long Gone...'. He has a whole different aesthetic. But for this album we came crawling back!"
The album will be preceded by the pant-wettingly good new single (and contender for title of the year so far) 'I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer' on October 3.
Other tracks set to appear on the record include 'Losing A Friend', 'In The Round', 'Good Morning Joan', 'Don't Blame Your Daughter (Diamonds)' and 'Godspell', while the band are expected to tour the UK in early 2006.
