Supergroup Velvet Revolver To Spilt?

Rumours are circulating within the US rock community as Velvet Revolver cut short their current world tour. On Tuesday (June 7) the band flew home early from Europe leading to a Finnish television station claiming the band had broken up.

American rock fans were left wondering about the future of Velvet Revolver this week after the band cut short a promotional tour and flew back to the United States. A newspaper and television station in Finland subsequently reported that the band had split, but a Velvet Revolver spokeswoman disputed the claims:

"The band has not broken up. In fact, they’re coming back to the U.S. early to start the next record."

She cited "family obligations" and album "pre-production work" as reasons for the cancellations but didn't elaborate on the nature of the matters or why the band had actually booked a tour if they knew they needed to be in the studio.

The band are due on the main stage at this weekend’s Download Festival, Leicestershire and organisers have confirmed that this is still set to go ahead.

The band has been dogged since conception by talks of ego disputes between singer Scott Weiland and lead guitarist Slash, and Weiland’s notorious drug problems. However, the spokeswoman confirmed, "Scott is not back on drugs.”

On the upside however, the weather for the Download festival looks set to be a decidedly un-satanically sunny. Check out the forecast, right here
