Supergrass, Idlewild Confirm For Isle Of Wight

Supergrass and Idlewild are the latest acts to be confirmed for this this year's Isle Of Wight Festival in June, joining headliners Faithless, Razorlight and R.E.M.
Supergrass and Idlewild have been confirmed for the Friday (June 10) of the Isle of Wight Festival 2005 at Seaclose Park, Newport. Both bands will be touring the UK in the coming weeks, while Supergrass have promised new material for the near future. The bands will join co-headliners Razorlight and Faithless while R.E.M. are the final night's headliners.
The date will be the first time R.E.M. have played the revived Isle Of Wight Festival, however the band are no strangers to UK festivals after a legendary headlining appearance at Glastonbury in 2003.
Speaking about the event, guitarist Peter Buck said: "As someone who grew up in America, the Isle of Wight was a distant legend. We're all really excited to play on the same stage as Dylan, The Who and Hendrix have in the past. Will there be nude anarchists this time...?"
Joining R.E.M. on the Sunday will be Snow Patrol (expected to appear complete with a new line-up following the dimissal of Mark McClelland), Embrace, The Magic Numbers, The Subways and Caravan.
Tickets for the event are on sale now on 08705 321 321 (www.ticketzone.co.uk), 0870 444 8898 (www.redfunnel.co.uk), 0870 582 7744 (www.wightlink.co.uk) and www.ticketmaster.co.uk . Ticket prices: Friday £35, Saturday £35, Sunday £35, Weekend £75, Weekend with camping £90.
