Noel Gallagher Loathes Eminem & 50 Cent

added 21 June 2005 at 12.04

Oasis mainman Noel Gallagher has lashed out at rappers Eminem and 50 Cent, accusing the hip hop stars of encouraging youth violence (not that he’s the type of character to condone a family member of punching photographers and random German tourists).

In a new interview with the Observer Music Monthly, Gallagher claims that he hates the hip hop genre due to the constant reinforcement of negative messages it directs towards its fans, and indulges in a bit of character assassination of Eminem and 50 Cent in particular.

"I despise hip hop. Loathe it,” he explained, “Eminem is an idiot and I find 50 Cent the most distasteful character I
have ever crossed in my life."

"I'm not saying they are directly responsible, but that's how you end up with these gangs of youths stabbing people."

On a more personal note, Noel has also been complaining about Robbie ‘Fat Dancer’ Williams again, saying that after the singer befriended Oasis at Glastonbury in 1996 he "Followed us around for a year. A full f**king year of s**t jokes, bad clothes and no crisps left in the dressing room when we came off stage."

Oasis have also confirmed the full line up for their summer stadium dates in the UK.

The full line up is as follows:

  • Glasgow, Hampden Park (June 29)
Oasis, Super Furry Animals, The Futureheads, The Stands, The Redwalls
