My Chemical Romance Announce Surprise Shows
US East Coast Rockers My Chemical Romance have announced two surprise dates next week for their London followers.
The shows, which are a tasty warm-up for the band's US tour in September, will take place at The Underworld, Camden on August 23 and 24.
These surprise dates come after news that the band will play both the Leeds and Reading festivals on the same day (Friday August 26) due to a clash with the MTV Video Music Award Nominations, for which the band have four nominations. The altruistic bunch were eager not to let down their fans.
"We hated when people cancelled shows for reasons other than health or family emergencies. So we decided to work with the promoter and try to pull both shows off on the same day." Frontman Gerard Way told Xfm.
“We are very happy it worked out and can’t wait to play. Reading and Leeds have been a dream of ours forever.”
Tickets will go on sale from the Underworld, 174 Camden High Street, London NW1 at 5pm today (August 17) and are restricted to one ticket per person.
"We want to make sure our fans all get the first dibs and not scalpers" explained Gerard Way.
Tickets for the shows are available from the venue by calling 08700 600 10. Doors are at 7pm and tickets are £10 and only available from the venue.
My Chemical Romance release the third single The Ghost of You on August 29.
