Morrissey And Roxy Music Confirm Isle Of Wight

added 18 March 2005 at 10.30

Morrissey and Roxy Music are the latest acts to be confirmed for this year's Isle Of Wight Festival in June, joining headliners Faithless, Razorlight and R.E.M.

Morrissey and legendary '70s art glam rockers Roxy Music have been confirmed for the Saturday (June 11) night of the two day Isle of Wight Festival 2005 taking place at Seaclose Park in Newport.

The announcement comes as something of as surprise as there were no rumours that Morrissey was due to play any festivals this summer following his Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds Carling Weekender,
Meltdown and Move festival appearances last year.

The Brian Ferry-fronted Roxy Music have also been added to the bill as “special guests of Morrissey”, the first time the band will have performed together since their reformation tour back in October 2001.

The bands will be joining the previously announced line up of R.E.M., Razorlight, Supergrass, Faithless, Snow Patrol (expected to appear complete with a new line-up following the dismissal of bassist Mark McClelland), Embrace, The Magic Numbers, The Subways and Caravan.

Tickets for the event are on sale now on 08705 321 321 (www.ticketzone.co.uk),  0870 444 8898 (www.redfunnel.co.uk), 0870 582 7744 (www.wightlink.co.uk) and www.ticketmaster.co.uk . Ticket prices: Friday £35, Saturday £35, Sunday £35, Weekend £75, Weekend with camping £90.
