Lauren Laverne Meets The Foo Fighters

They stride like rock collossi amongst the modern world's mediocre musical midgets. They are the Foo Fighters and they spoke exclusively to Lauren Laverne about touring, the new record and more.
With fingers in pretty much every significant rock pie of the last decade or so (Nirvana, Queens of The Stone Age, Garbage) Dave Grohl's rock pedigree is unassailable. As if that wasn't enough he's also at the helm of The Foo Fighters, one of the hugest unreconstructed rock outfits since, well, Nirvana.
Ahead of the release of new album 'In Your Honour' - a half acoustic, half electric beast of truly epic proportions - Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins came by the Xfm studios to talk all things Foo with Lauren Laverne.
Hear it here.
On sound husky, building Foo Central and making a double album:
"It's the bottle and it's the hangover. That's what it is."
[listen]
On being Rock Gods, the Foo rider and going Spinal Tap:
"This is basically what we do all day long. We just get to walk around and eat finger sandwiches..."
[listen]
On politics, sleep patterns and hitting the campaign trail:
"I went out and supported John Kerry on his campaign trail, only really because George Bush was using one of our songs at his political rallies..."
[listen]
On interviews, insomnia and related remedies:
"I just can't stop talking. I just can't stop!"
