Keane Join U2 Support Bill

While playing an exclusive Xfm Live Session next week may be the highlight of their 2005, Keane have also confirmed that they've been added to the support bill for U2's European arena dates this summer.

Keane have announced they will be joining U2 for four of the band's stadium dates in Europe this coming August. While U2 have already confirmed that The Killers and Snow Patrol will support them on a number of the dates, Xfm can reveal that the final support act will be Keane.

The double Brit Award winners will support U2 at the Olympic Stadium in Munich (August 3), Parc des Sports in Nice (5), Camp Nou in Barcelona (7) and Alvalade in Lisbon (14).

Kings Of Leon will support the band on the North American leg of their Vertigo 2005 Tour which begins in San Diego on March 28.

However, prior to that Keane will be playing celebrating the success of their two million selling debut album 'Hopes And Fears' with an exclusive Xfm Live Session in association with Jameson Irish Whisky.

The gig will be taking place at The Carling Academy, Islington, London on Tuesday March 8. Considering they could easily sell out a week of gigs at Wembley Arena (capacity 10,000) the chance of seeing them in such intimate surroundings (capacity 800) will make this a very, very special gig.

Doors will be open at 7:00pm (with no support band) and Keane will be onstage at 9:00pm. And, as if that wasn't enough, Xfm's very own Iain Baker will be DJing and compering throughout the evening.

Like our already legendary Xfm Live Sessions tickets for the gig aren’t available through the usual outlets, but you can win them by listening to 104.9 Xfm or by entering our exclusive competition online simply by clicking here.

Recent Xfm Live Sessions with Jameson have included Kasabian, The Music, The Streets, Graham Coxon, The Thrills, Ash, Jet, Snow Patrol, lostprophets, Athete and Supergrass. To have a look at the full archive of these sessions just click here.
