Foo Fighters Unveil Album Artwork

Ahead of the release of ‘In Your Honor’ on June 13, Foo Fighters have unveiled the album’s artwork. The album will be preceded by the Xfm-rated single ‘Best Of You’, set to hit shops on May 30.

With the release of the band’s new album just weeks away, Xfm can reveal the artwork for their new double album ‘In Your Honor’ [pictured]. The band’s fifth album finds the Foo Fighters almost exactly a decade on from the release of the first Foos record.

“One CD rock, one CD acoustic,” Grohl explained in a message to fans. “It will surprise you. It surprises me. Almost a year in the making, from five hours of bedroom demos, to warehouses being built from the ground up, to months of rehearsals, to the construction of an 8,000 square foot classic recording studio, to the recording of 40 songs, to the final track list of 20 songs, it is by far the most ambitious project I have ever had anything to do with in my entire life.”

He also defended his choice of cohorts for the album following the announcement that bland, pseudo jazz muppet Norah Jones joins the band on the acoustic album while her altogether more rawk namesake, John Paul Jones - bassist with Led Zeppelin who joins the band for the rock disc.

“There are a few guests,” Grohl explained. “They may seem strange to you. They don't seem strange to me. I just love music. Music can be faceless. It can be nameless. After all, it's the sound that makes your hair stand on end, right? It will.

"I have a calendar in front of me that is a year-long, f**king packed with tours that will spin us around the globe over and over and over again. It makes me dizzy just looking at it. I can't f**king wait.”

The Foo Fighters will be playing T in the Park in Kinross, Scotland on July 9, the Oxegen Festival in Irelamd on July 10 and the Reading And Leeds Carling Weekender on August 27 and 28.
