Edwyn Collins Suffers Second Haemorrhage

Former Orange Juice singer, Edwyn Collins, is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a second suspected brain haemorrhage. Collins was admitted to hospital last month (February 20) following a bout of vomiting believed to have been brought on by food poisoning.
The wife of Collins, 45, has confirmed the news of the emergency operation through the artist’s website. Wife Grace Maxwell, who is also his manager, explained, "He has come through it as well as can be hoped for and is continuing to fight."
Earlier this week a statement from his management team said, "Edwyn Collins suffered a cerebral haemorrhage on Sunday night and has been in hospital since, where doctors are trying to stabilise his condition."
Two days prior to his hospital admittance, Collins had appeared on BBC show Roundtable and complained about feeling ill. However at the time, Collins blamed food poisoning adding, "I'm two days into recuperation and I should be fine."
The singers’ son William has also thanked fans for support.
As well as his time spent with Orange Juice, Edwyn Collins later launched a solo career and scored a huge hit in 1995 with ‘A Girl Like You’. More recently, he has been the other side of the mixing desk producing such bands as Sons And Daughters, Little Barrie and The Cribs.
