'Time For Deliverance'
"I think the main theme lyrically would be to avoid procrastination of any kind. A lot of people know how they can improve their situation, whatever it might be. It's about talking about things and not following through." [listen]

'The Song Rides'
"It's quite a short, poppy rock song. People maybe miss the point when they first hear it, then after a few listens they actually listen to the lyrics and it's quite meaningful." [listen]

'Sprezzatura'
"It's a 16th century Spanish aristocratic word that basically means the act of being artful - like everything you do is a form of art but you make it look effortless. That's a state of Sprezzatura." [listen]

'What's Hideous'
"I shouldn't really comment on Tom's [Shotton - the 'Things' other songwriter] private life but he's... uncomfortable with affection and finds various ways of finding a problem in a relationship. Actually I'm getting a bit personal here..." [listen]

'Off The Hook'
"I don't know what they mean but the lyrics are superb and obviously Chantal [Brown - one of DMBT's legion of vocalists] - I think that's the one where she really shines on the album." [listen]

'Liv Ullman On Drums'
"Liv Ullman is a Swedish actress from the '70s that Tom has a fascination with. He goes through stages of being obsessed with certain actresses and this is his one for this cycle." [listen]

'Molly's Wood'
"It's poppy in parts - for me it's very uplifting to sing but I see where people are coming from when they say it's a downbeat song. But I like that it's on the album 'cos it gives it a bit of contrast." [listen]

'Suburban Flame'
"I just thought that song in particular encapsulated - as close as we can with all the singers, all the styles that we go through - that one's the most representitive of what we do." [listen]

'The Daily Grind'
"I'm not really too sure what Tom's trying to get at here but I do feel a connection when I sing lines like 'I had this peephole that captured the world'. It's another dark one." [listen]

'Hold On'
"That song initially started as a filler in the set and Tom came up with this silly little riff that we thought sounded like the Ceefax music." [listen]
