BSP, Thrills, Lemon Jelly Play Ice Cream Festival

Ben & Jerry’s have confirmed possibly the best idea ever: It’s all very well getting beer companies to sponsor festivals, but an ice cream company giving out free ice cream? With British Sea Power, The Thrills and Lemon Jelly on the bill? For only a fiver? Genius.
On Sunday August 7, Ben & Jerry's Sundae is coming to London’s Clapham Common and there’ll be live sets from The Thrills, Alabama 3, British Sea Power, Yeti and Zero 7 vocalist Sophie Barker. Plus Lemon Jelly's Fred Deakin will be behind the decks for a summery DJ set.
Not only that, but rumour has it the hippies-turned-businessmen will also be handing out free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. There’ll also be a number of stalls from such organisations as Trees for Cities and the WWF (no, not the wrestlers…).
The event will also be raising money for a good cause (as their mantra dictates) meaning all ticket proceeds will go towards the regeneration of the Clapham Common bandstand.
Tickets cost just a fiver, and will go on sale from www.benjerry.co.uk and Clapham Picture House from June 17 2005. The event runs from midday to 8pm.
British Sea Power's single ‘Please Stand Up’ and the album ‘Open Season’ are out now.
