Bloc Party Announce More UK Dates

Following the confirmation of their Glasto appearance, Bloc Party have announced yet more UK tour dates including a two-night residency in London.
Following their sold out Kentish Town Forum and Xfm Xposure Live shows, 2005's Most-Likely To's Bloc Party have confirmed a clutch of UK dates including two nights headlining the London Astoria on April 13 and 14. The band will also be playing shows in Glasgow (15) and Manchester (17). Support comes from Pretty Girls Make Graves and The Rakes (London only) and tickets are on sale now.
The band are currently riding high as the 'Band Most Likely To Succeed In 2005', topping the numerous lists of band of the year polls, and their new single ‘So Here We Are’ is ripping up the airwaves across the nation.
As previously reported on Xfm Online, frontman Kele Okereke has revealed the band's summer festival plans ahead of the release of their debut album. According to Okereke, Bloc Party will play Glastonbury and the Carling Reading and Leeds Weekender festivals, with probably more dates to be added.
"2004 was amazing for us and this year should be even better," he explained to Virtual Festivals, "Provided we can stay sane! We've been booked to play Glastonbury, which we haven't done before, and Reading and Leeds. We're also in talks with T In The Park and Oxegen about playing those."
The band release a new single ‘So Here We Are’ next week (January 31) and the album 'Silent Alarm' on February 14.
Tickets for the shows are available either by calling the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or go to the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by clicking here.
The full tour dates are:
- Edinburgh Liquid Room (March 1)
- Sheffield Leadmill (2)
- London Forum (4)
- Portsmouth Pyramid (5)
- London Astoria (April 13-14)
- Glasgow Barrowlands (15)
- Manchester Academy (17)
