Beastie Boys Release ‘Solid Gold’ In November

The Beastie Boys have announced they will release a Greatest Hits record entitled ‘Solid Gold Hits’ in November to mark that all-important 24th Anniversary. In celebration of their birthday, Capitol Records will put out a 15-track retrospective. And no, the trio apparently aren’t splitting up…

The compendium compiles the New Yorkers career from some of the Boys' first hits ‘No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn’ and ‘Fight For Your Right’ through West Coast detours ‘Shake Your Rump’, ‘So What'cha Want’ and ‘Sabotage’, up to last year's return with ‘To The 5 Boroughs' ‘Ch-Check It Out,’ ‘An Open Letter To NYC’ and ‘Triple Trouble’.

It hardly matches the complicity of the trio’s 42-track ‘Sounds Of Science’ anthology, but with copies of that collection proving hard to get hold of this may be the ideal Christmas present to help your Gran feel the beat, mmm, drrrrrrrrop.

A full tracklisting is expected to follow shortly.
