Alterkicks 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Alterkicks were formed through adverts in shops in Merseyside and Cheshire, though now based in Liverpool, the band are drawn from far and wide. Now jobless as the pressures of the band overtake their chosen careers, the five-piece are currently becoming experts on the interest free loopholes of credit card offers, “You can change them every six months and transfer the debt”, according to vocalist Martin Stilwell.
Still to play in London, Alterkicks will soon embark on a tour in support of their current release ‘Oh Honey’ on the famous Moshi Moshi label (who have previously championed the likes of Bloc Party and The Rakes, and will hopefully will keep Barclaycard from knocking on their door for a bit longer).
Current single ‘Oh Honey’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] opens things in style with its highly infectious rhythm and rousing chorus. Tender ballad ‘Everything I Taught You’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] displays Martin’s fanatastic voice to full effect before bringing things to a close with the insistent stomper ‘I Can Make My Own Decisions’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] .
