X-clusive: Travis Play Leicester Square

Following their recent busking appearances round the UK, Travis made an unexpected appearance playing an impromptu acoustic set in London's Leicester Square, and Xfm was there.
As their current UK tour draws to a close with a gig at the London Mean Fiddler tonight (October 14) Travis played a surprise gig in front of the Empire Theatre in Leicester Square at 1.30pm this afternoon.
This is the fifth time the band has busked on their tour, each time all four members of the band set up with acoustic instruments and busked for around twenty minutes to raise money for the Big Issue magazine which raises money for homeless people.
As dark clouds threatened rain, the band ran through a
selection of their hits including ‘Sing’, 'Driftwood', an emotive 'Turn' and their cover of Britney Spears' '(Hit Me Baby) One More Time' (introduced by Travis singer Fran Healy as "Better than the original, but we can't dance as well as her...")

Healy encouraged the crowd of approximately 300 fans, passers by and surprisingly tolerant police officers to donate to the charity by tossing money into an empty guitar case, explaining that the band had already raised nearly £1000 over their five busking sessions so far.
Travis' new single ‘Walking In The Sun’ (featured on their upcoming 'Best Of' album, entitled ‘Singles’) is released on October 18.
The band's full acoustic set list was:
- ‘Sing’
- ‘Driftwood'
- 'Turn'
- '(Hit Me Baby) One More Time'
- 'Flowers In The Window'
- 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me'
