X-clusive: James Brown Plays London Show

added 16 April 2004 at 11.02

Xfm can exclusively reveal that The Hardest Working Man In Show Business, Mr. Dynamite, The Godfather Of Soul, Prisoner 5792048947*, James Brown will be playing a rare, one off gig at the Carling Hammersmith Apollo in London in July.

Not only has James Brown confirmed a rare UK date at the Glastonbury Festival this year, but now Xfm Online can reveal that The Original Soul Brother Number One will be playing the Carling Hammersmith Apollo, in West London on July 2.

Seemingly undeterred by his recent problems with the law, Brown will no doubt be ripping through his classic hits such as ‘Living in America’, ‘Get Up Offa That Thing’, ‘Get Up (I Feel Like Being A Sex Machine)’, ‘It’s A Man’s World', ‘Make it Funky’, ‘Hot Pants’, ‘Sex Machine’ and ‘Papa’s got a Brand New Bag’ like the genuine musical legend that he is.

Tickets for the event are £28.50 advance and are available on the Credit Card Hotline: 0870 400 0688 (24hrs subject to booking fee) and www.cclive.co.uk, from the Xfm Xchange on 0870 121 1049 and online from the Xfm Live Gig Guide by clicking here.

Doors open at 7.00pm and special live guests are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

James Brown is also playing the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday June 27.
