U2 Confirm New Album Tracklisting

added 28 September 2004 at 09.50

Following rumours that U2 will begin their European tour with two huge Dublin shows, the band have finally confirmed the tracklisting for their new record.

Entitled ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’, the stadium rockers have announced that the album will feature eleven tracks with ‘Miracle Drug’, ‘One Step Closer’ and ‘Love and Peace or Else’ among the newly announced titles. The four-piece had previously confirmed the names of just six of the tracks set for inclusion. However neither ‘Tough’ nor ‘Full Metal Jacket’, which band members had previously mentioned as possible selections, have made the final cut.

The announcement of the album’s running order follows yesterday’s (September 28) news in Ireland's Sunday Business Post claiming the band will be beginning their European tour at Dublin’s Croke Park Stadium on June 26 and 27, with a possible third date pencilled in on the 28 if there’s sufficient demand (U2? New album? Hometown gig? Nah, we can't possibly imagine there'll be sufficient demand).

As previously reported (though not officially confirmed) U2 are also expected to headlien the Glastonbury Festival in 2005.

U2 release ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ on November 22 preceded by a new single ‘Vertigo’ on November 8. ‘Vertigo’ is, however, currently available for download from Apple's iTunes Store,

The full album tracklisting is:

  1. ‘Vertigo’
  2. ‘Miracle Drug’
  3. ‘Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own’
  4. ‘Love and Peace or Else’
  5. ‘City of Blinding Lights’
  6. ‘All Because of You’
  7. ‘A Man and a Woman’
  8. ‘Crumbs From Your Table’
  9. ‘One Step Closer’
  10. ‘Original of the Species’
  11. ‘Yahweh’
