TV On The Radio

The Baltimore five piece hit the Xfm studios with their impressive afros and intimidating beats for an Xfm session - check out TV On The Radio live.

TV On The Radio 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]

Appealing to a hypnotic, trancey aesthetic similar to the one mined by the likes of Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Tricky, TV On The Radio draw from their striking debut 'Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes' to create a session that's at once uplifting, threatening and ominously powerful.

Opening up with the hypnotic, spacious dub of 'Staring At The Sun' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] , its raw optimism is quickly drawn down by the incongruously delivered opening couplets of 'Dreams' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] 'All your dreams are over now/All your wings have fallen down'.

Set closer 'Poppy' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] sees us back on raher more familiar ground as gentle beats and chanting building inexorably to a climax.
