In the seven years since they bounced chirpily into our lives with the jovial 'Tied To The Nineties', Travis have matured into a resonant, passionate and occasionally political rock outfit. Hear their forthcoming singles collection here.

First coming to our attention amid the final, fading chords of Britpop, where the likes of Blur and Supergrass will always be judged by their mid-'90sheyday, Travis have done well to forge an independent identity thanks to their adept transformation from gleeful popstrels to mature, considered songwriters.

It's a process that 'Singles' - despite it's non-chronological running order - illustrates perfectly. The breezy, pogo-tastic pop of 'Tied To The '90s' is sandwiched between earnest new track 'Walking In The Sun' and 'The Invisible Band's classic laid-back classic 'Coming Around'.

Elsewhere there's a triple pop whammy of 'U16 Girls' (with it's 'Ooh, Missus!' chorus of 'So make sure that she's old enough/Before you blow your... mind'), the pathologically cheerful 'Happy' and the ironic, iconic statement of intent that is 'All I Want To Do Is Rock' before 'The Beautiful Occupation's overt politics, 'Turn's heartfelt pleading and second new track 'The Distance' bring us up to speed on Travis' more contemporary ambitions.

An emotive, eclectic and powerful collection of songs by one of the most accomplished homegrown bands of recent times. Check out all of 'Singles'.
