Tokyo Dragons Give Rock 'n' Roll To Ya

added 13 October 2004 at 14.37

Blessed with a whole lotta balls, Tokyo Dragons turn in some vigorous, authentic rock and talk to Ian Camfield about their influences, the future and reality TV. Listen to them live.

After three and a half years of endless touring Tokyo Dragons (they're not from Tokyo and they're not dragons but Harrow Geezers doesn't sound as cool) are finally getting some well-deserved recognition. After appearing on MTV's band-breaking (in both senses) reality show 'Breaking Point' they earnt themselves a record deal with Island and  nationwide support slots under The Datsuns and Winnebago Deal and signed up The Darkness' Pedro (Pedrock) Ferreira to produce their forthcoming debut (out in February).

Their air-guitar friendly rock bleeds with influences from AC/DC, Motorhead and Thin Lizzy, topped off with  funk, punk and soul. Ian Camfield talked exclusively to Tokyo Dragons about the slog of reality TV, the rocky road to success and the potential future perks of meeting fans in the supermarket.  [listen]

Tokyo Dragons 'Get 'Em Off' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
A wild, roaring intro, skintight drums and flying (V) guitar solos go hand in hand with Steve Lomax's cocky vocals on this rockster's anthem, the first track of their current double A-side single.

Tokyo Dragons 'High On Hate' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Centred around classic bass-lines and coarse singing ooze energy. Simple, stylish rawk.
