The Mooney Suzuki Are Alive & Amplified

added 02 September 2004 at 12.08

'School of Rock' stars The Mooney Suzuki are about to be unleashed on these shores with their third album. Hear them tell their story and play live on Music: Response right here.

The bastard offpsring of some unholy union between Electric 6 and The Darkness, The Mooney Suzuki thrash out waves of pure, unadulterated ROCK like it's 1999, the '70s and Jimi Hendrix's Christmas all come at once.

Fresh from starring in Jack Black's 'School of Rock' and with their awesome third album 'Alive & Amplified' on its way, The Mooney Suzuki took to Music: Response and delivered a blistering live set.

Ian Camfield quizzed the NYC four-piece on recording with legendary hi-tech producers The Matrix, touring with The Strokes and being film stars. [listen]

The Mooney Suzuki 'Alive & Amplified' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Already the band's signature tune - this collossal slice of muscular, psychedelia-tinged rock is destined to be their landmark, much like the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building and Mount Rushmore.

The Mooney Suzuki 'Shake That Bush Again' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
If rock was a motorcycle then this is the sound of a drunken teenager taking it over deadman's curve and executing a breathtaking triple-axel spin halfway across before landing in flames.
