The Delays Have A Good Day

Coming straight out of Southampton to hit the Top 20 with the beautiful single 'Long Time Coming', The Delays hit Music: Response to play live and talk about the band's history and choosing music over football.
The ass-end of 2003 was made considerably more tolerable by the ephemerel genius of the beautiful 'Long Time Coming' single, which warmed up the airwaves and thrust it's authors - the previously little-known Delays - into a strange kind of winter limelight.
The Southampton four-piece visited Music: Response this week, playing live and chatting to Ian Camfield about sounding like The Hollies, headlining The Astoria already and sharing a band with your brother: "I don't hate him. We've got a good relationship. We have arguments but we'd never stab each other in the face." [listen]

The latest in a series of Xfm-style tracks to break the Top 20, 'Long Time Coming' is undoubtedly at the vanguard of the guitar's return to the charts. And we couldn't have hoped for a more celebratory, anthemic ambassador. They're really spoiling us...
