The Concretes

Stockholm's girl-fronted The Concretes delivered a session of poise, splendour and tuneful tales in the Xfm studios. Check out their exclusive studio session here.

The Concretes 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]

Fronted by the sweet-voiced Victoria Bergsman, The Concretes are off to play their first ever shows on American soil in October before supporting The Thrills throughout the UK in November.

The Swedish nine-piece open things up with the 60’s style, distinguished gusto pop of 'You Can't Hurry Love' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]. At a mere two minutes long, it's sunny, blissful, up-beat rock all the way, brimming with Swedish twang and a smidgen of horns. Next up is 'New Friend' [Dial-Up] [Broadband], most reminiscent of the Velvets, followed by the syrupy 'Lonely As Can Be' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]. Closing the session is the wistful  indie-pop b/side 'Under Your Leaves' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] - all Scandinavian superfluities of orchestra and keyboards.
