Singer and guitarist Steve Mason, of Scottish experimental indie pioneers The Beta Band has announced details of the band's hotly anticipated third record and apparently "This time it's all or nothing."

The album is entitled 'Heroes To Zeroes' and is set for an April 26 release. According to a posting on the band's website, www.BetaBand.com,

"The album was finished in December and now just needs the artwork done." Steve wrote "We are shooting the video for the first single on Thursday at Camber Sands."

Speaking about the first single, set for an April 12 release, Mason revealed:

"The first single is 'Assessment' and the video is going to be the history of human warfare - that's all I can give you right now!"

Nigel Godrich, famous for his landmark recordings with the likes of Air, Radiohead and Beck, has mixed the LP, which was produced by The Beta Band, themselves.

"We are having the album mixed by Nigel Godrich at the moment." Mason continued "Me and Rich [Green, Bass] went down at the weekend to see what he's doing to our LP and its all good.

"It's a quality piece, no problem, this time it's all or nothin. The making of the record, which started over a year ago, has been filmed for us and this will come out as a DVD sometime next year. All four of us are also working on a DVD to come out around the time of the LP. 12 films, 3 each, to go with 12 tracks. Some of these tracks may not be from the LP but will be new."

The tracklisting is as follows:

1. 'Assessment'
2. 'Space'
3. 'Lion Thief'
4. 'Easy'
5. 'Wonderful'
6. 'Troubles'
7. 'Outside'
8. 'Space Beatle'
9. 'Rhododendron'
10. 'Liquid Bird'
11. 'Simple'
12. 'Pure For'
