Pete Doherty Back On Stage

Pete Doherty squashed the recent rumours of a Libertines split last night by joining the rest of his band on stage in London for a surprise gig. The band played for about one hundred people at new club night 'Dirty Pretty Things' with instruments on loan from the night's headliners The Boxer Rebellion.
The band played a set including 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun', forthcoming new single 'Can't Stand Me' and finished with a rousing version of 'The Good Old Days' NME reports. Earlier in the evening, Doherty led the crowd in a chorus of 'Happy Birthday' for cofrontman Carl Barat, who turned 26 the day before.
It is reported that Doherty has insisted that he will leave for Thailand today (June 8) to undergo a rigorous course of rehab at the Thamkrabok Monastery. The Monastery claim to provide one of the most successful detoxification and rehabilitation programs in the world, having treated over 100,000 patients since its inception in 1958.
The band's forthcoming appearances at the Isle of Wight festival, Meltdown, Glastonbury, T In The Park and the Carling Weekender still hang in the balance as the band fight to get Doherty well enough to fulfill their summer bookings.
