Outkast And Beach Boys Get Animated

Stars of hip-hop Outkast and legendary Beach Boy Brian Wilson have confirmed that they are both set to star in cartoon form. Andre 3000 of the multi-platinum rap duo is developing a potential series, while Wilson has recorded a guest appearance for a US cartoon smash.
Reports suggest that Dre is currently working on ideas for the rap based half-hour special for the Cartoon Network. If both parties are happy with the results, the channel will commission a series.
Mike Lazzo of the Cartoon Network explains that while he was originally nervous about working with the star, he lost his reservations upon meeting with Andre 3000, who has worked as an illustrator. "I'm extremely wary of it, but in Andre's case, I think he is a creative genius," he said. "He has definite opinions of what he likes visually."
The project may follow the details of Dre's own life or possibly his alter ego, Johnny Vulture, the guitar-playing wildman seen in OutKast's video for 'Hey Ya!' Dre is also expected to contribute music to the project.
In other Outkast news, Andre 3000 is currently filming his contribution to the 'Get Shorty' sequel, 'Be Cool', as well as beginning work on his starring role in the Jimi Hendrix biopic, to be directed by the Hughes Brothers. Big Boi is currently rumoured to be appearing at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
More bizarrely, legendary Beach Boy, Brian Wilson, is also to appear in animated form apparently playing himself, acting as a spiritual advisor to 'Duck Dodgers' in an episode of the successful US cartoon series. Bear in mind, as far Xfm can gather, the series is set in space on a space ship with a crew of ducks and pigs. And Brian Wilson is playing himself?
Wilson was apparently delighted with the results even inspiring him to write a new track, 'Believe In Yourself', which will feature in the series. "He said that reading his lines and getting into his role was the best time he had in years," spokesman for Wilson, Mark Fried said.
Wilson is set to return to the UK later this year for more 'Smile' live shows, which will also feature performances of new tracks from his forthcoming album, 'Gettin' In Over My Head'.
