New Idlewild Album Set For 2005

Idlewild have confirmed that they’re currently putting the finishing touches to their fifth studio album. The follow-up to 2002’s ‘The Remote Part’, the new record is set to be released early next year and will see the band back on the road for a series of international live dates.
A message on the band’s website explains that they spent Halloween in the United States before finally confirming the record’s completion.
“New York city on the night of Halloween,” the message reads, “High fiving and dressed up as Frankenstein. A spaghetti dinner with whiskey sours and a walk around the lower east side the next morning blasting the record from headphones. One final check and our fifth album is finally finished.
“The men of Idlewild set a smile half proud, half relieved. Always happy.”
The band have also confirmed that there will be live dates to follow the release of the as yet untitled new record.
“Look out for some UK acoustic shows in January, followed by a US/UK tour around the record's release at the beginning of March 2005.”
